Voice has reached straining caricature of its former beauty. Songs sound uninspired and simple. Once the greatest songwriter of our generation. Skip this album
This is the album America needs to wake them up!

If Bob Dylan and Neil Young were combined into one person, that person is Lucinda Williams. And with this timely album, she doesn’t disappoint. Any fans with the misconception that she was a conservative should have known already that she is very liberal. As one famous poet put it: “If ya don’t know/now ya know.”
Her album is brilliant...

No, it’s probably not her best album but it’s up there. All of her music qualifies as some of the best music released that year. We are talking about one of the best American songwriters in the country over the last thirty years, after all. And her band is as strong as ever! The album is not overly political, a ridiculous and false criticism. “Shadows and Doubts” is another woeful classic from LW.

Everything is political these days & Lucinda is no exception. Tell it, girl. The man is on his way out.

Love her music, but I'm not interested in her political views. We all have our own political views, you don’t need mine and I don’t need yours.

Like an ant can haul, she can stall and waste time, energy and space with her downward spiral.

I am not the most loyal LW fan, however I have followed her for a few decades. She is a visionary for sure, and should make one ponder her words.
Four stars for me because I find the sound does not differ enough from tune to tune. “Wakin’ Up” is a complete standout for me!

Thank you, Lucinda for being a voice of reason when there are so few. It needed to be said....it needed to be sung.
